Judie J. Roberts
Judie Roberts is an award-winning educator and retired member of the Utah National Guard. All of her experiences have helped her hone her abilities to make quick decisions, respond to emergencies, and improve the quality of life of those around her.
A four-diamond coach in the National Speech and Debate Association (NSDA), Judie guided her students to team and individual state and regional championships for many years. Many of her students earned spots to compete at the national level. She has coached more than 50 NSDA Academic All-Americans, including the youngest ever Academic
All-American.
In addition to coaching mock trial teams for 22 years, Judie has also served as professional development director of the Utah State Debate Coaches Association for more than a decade. Judie taught Advanced Placement Psychology and
International Baccalaureate Psychology where 80-90% of per students passed the tests to earn college credits. She retired from Skyline High School in 2015 after 25 years of teaching at the secondary and college level.
While serving as major in the Utah National Guard, Judie was Utah’s Troop Command Mobilization Officer during the Persian Gulf War, where she mobilized an evacuation hospital, aviation group, military intelligence units and combat engineers. She was also responsible for the readiness of approximately half of the Utah National Guard units. She retired after 21 years of service.
Judie, her husband, and her four boys have lived in District 34 for 43 years.
